Hominid you just see that?

The fossil remains of Ardipithecus ramidus provide fascinating insight into the evolution of early hominids. In the years following the discovery of Ar. ramidus in 1992 a new understanding of early hominid evolution has been formed. Specifically Ar. ramidus falsifies the hypothesis that the earliest hominids evolved on the savanna. Ar. ramidus also tells us that hominid evolution has been in the works for nearly 6 million years. The work of scientists studying Ar. ramidus has been heralded as the scientific breakthrough of the year for 2009 by Science Magazine, and this video is a nice update on the current understanding of the early hominids.
